The Sawmill Manager is responsible for supervising all aspects of sawmill operations. This includes achieving production goals, ensuring machinery is properly maintained, enforcing safety and quality standards, and optimizing the use of resources and raw materials to maximize efficiency and performance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong, hands-on understanding of modern milling technologies, production workflows, and sawmill processes from debarking to drying, and planing.
• Proven experience in a production management role.
• Knowledge of production flow and ability to reassign production staff to critical tasks, resulting in minimized bottlenecks and consistently efficient workflow.
• Thorough understanding machinery, raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and lean principles.
• Supervisory and leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete and disseminate reports.
