Position Description
At Classic American Hardwoods, Inc., we are seeking an experienced Moulder Machine Setup and Operations Expert (Weinig) to join our team. This role is crucial for producing high-quality custom mouldings, such as Base, Crown, Face Frame , and Stiles and Rails. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Weinig moulding machines and a deep understanding of wood processing, profile cutting, and machine calibration.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Set up, calibrate, and operate Weinig moulder machines for the production of various moulding profiles, and S4S products
· Select and install profile knives or cutterheads specific to each moulding design.
· Adjust machine settings (feed rates, cutting depths, spindle angles) to ensure precise cuts that meet design and quality specifications.
· Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the moulder machines to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
· Collaborate with design and production teams to understand project requirements and ensure that each piece meets quality and craftsmanship standards.
· Maintain attention to detail to ensure that each product aligns with Classic American Hardwoods standards for precise craftsmanship.
· Adhere to safety protocols and best practices while operating machinery.
Measures of Success:
· Consistently producing high-quality finishes custom moulding profiles.
· Minimizing machine downtime through proactive maintenance and efficient setup.
· Ensuring a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
· Proven experience with Weinig moulder machines, particularly for producing crown and base moulding, Face Frame, Stiles and Rails, and custom moulding profiles.
· Strong knowledge of knife grinding, profile cutting, machine setup, and operation in the context of custom wood moulding.
· Familiarity with routine maintenance and troubleshooting to reduce downtime.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for accurate machine setup.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure the highest product quality
